I am often asked why I came up with this name for the website and all I can say is there is something magical about a plate that is filled with different colours,flavours and textures.
This website is going to be your guide so that you can learn to cook  different dishes from all over and virtually explore places you've never been to. My goal is to encourage you to get out of your comfort zone and look at the world with new eyes.

For your reference -
Aaji = grandma.
Thaali = a big circular stainless steel plate full of food as shown below.

My grandmoms (maternal and paternal)like many grandmoms across the world had their own modified versions of recipes which were passed on to them by their mothers and grandmothers. When they were growing up, food was scarce and with big families to feed, the women of the house had to get innovative and make the most of what was available. Wastage was shunned and even the humble potato was considered a gift from god.

Having lived in 5 countries and traveled across over 140 cities, I have been on a fascinating culinary journey so far. I have sampled lip-smacking, authentic delicacies (some of which I will write about) cooked by grandmoms across the world. As I keep traveling, I hope you will enjoy exploring new places & dishes with me. My website is merely an ode to my grandmoms and to all other grandmoms across.
Thank you for stopping by!
